Hello! Happy Friday.
I’ve spent the last month living out of a suitcase, and I’ve learned three things about myself:
I’m the world’s worst packer. Four suitcases. Every single one at the weight limit. Am I the problem…?
I cannot decide what to order from a menu to save my life.
Even when a trip has absolutely nothing to do with bees, they somehow always find me.
One of my favorite parts of all of this has been meeting people and hearing the memories bees bring back for them. Sometimes it happens after a few cocktails at the end of a night out, and someone will tell me about growing up around hives at their grandparents’ home in France, eating honey on fresh bread, or a tiny moment they still think about years later.
I love those conversations. It’s so special when bees unlock a memory someone really cherishes.
Before I left, Kara Rivers and Kelly McCarthy of KEM Creative photographed APIS at Kelly’s parents’ home in Nantucket, and it made me so happy that it was in a family home instead of a studio.
That has always felt like the point of APIS to me. Honey isn't just another condiment. It takes thousands of bees and countless hours to make something so simple. Then it ends up on a table, shared with the people you love. I think that's pretty special.
Since then, I’ve chatted with lavender honey producers in Sardinia, wandered through the gardens at The Pig in the Cotswolds, and noticed bees popping up in fashion, hotels, retail, and beauty.
Here’s what’s buzzing this week.
The Future of Hospitality
One of my favorite afternoons this summer was spent at The Pig in the Cotswolds.
Before lunch, I wandered through the kitchen gardens where flowers, vegetables, herbs, and beehives all exist together. The bees quietly pollinate the gardens that supply the restaurant, and their honey appears throughout the menu. Nothing feels staged. It’s simply part of the property.
As I was walking around, I realized The Pig isn’t the only place I’ve noticed this…
Soho House recently announced opening of their new location in Hudson Valley, an retreat centered around slowing down and reconnecting with nature. Here in London, St. Ermin’s Hotel has rooftop hives, and several Red Carnation hotels have made beekeeping part of their story too.
A few years ago, luxury often meant marble lobbies and over-the-top amenities. Now it feels like kitchen gardens, local ingredients, beehives, and experiences that make you appreciate where you are.

Why Am I Seeing Bees Everywhere?
As someone who spends a lot of time in a bee suit, seeing beekeeper veils on Thom Browne’s runway was definitely not on my 2026 bingo card.
Then I started thinking...
Jacquemus photographed bees for its Summer 2025 campaign. Dior’s Jonathan Anderson incorporating small bees into handbags. Suddenly I realized I keep seeing them everywhere.
Maybe I’ve just trained my brain to spot them. Or maybe more luxury brands are finding inspiration in the natural world again…!

Fortnum & Mason
This weekend I’m making a stop at St. Pancras to see Fortnum & Mason’s giant beehive installation.
I’ve always loved that they’ve had rooftop hives for years, so seeing them bring that story into one of London’s busiest train stations feels like such a fun way to celebrate something they’ve been doing all along.
I’ll report back next week after I’ve seen it in person.
The Return of the Cult Classic
One of my very first beauty purchases was Clinique Black Honey.
I still remember saving my babysitting money so I could buy another one after I finally used it up.
So when I saw they were launching Black Honey nail polish, I immediately understood why.
Beauty moves so quickly these days that it feels refreshing when a brand leans into something people already love instead of asking us to fall in love with something new every month.
I wonder if millennials are just overwhelmed by the newest and greatest beauty products, so brands are pivoting the tried and true options that are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.
One Last Thing...
I’m calling it now.
Bare, healthy nails are going to be everywhere this autumn.
Glossy neutrals and beautifully cared-for natural nails feel like the beauty equivalent of putting on a crisp white button-down. Simple, timeless, and somehow always chic.
Even Nicki Hilton is sharing her perspective on TikTok…personally, my hands are always in a garden or hive that the bare trend greatly benefits my personal aesthetic. I can’t stand sitting down for 45 minutes and being held captive, so this trend, I support!
Thank you so much for reading the very first edition of Buzzworthy.
Every Friday, I’ll be sharing the places, brands, meals, ideas, and little details that catch my eye. Not because they’re necessarily the biggest stories of the week, but because I think they’re worth noticing.
See you next Friday,
Suzannah
